Area Preparation:
Surfaces to be coated must be clean and dry. Remove all loose, peeling paint, dirt, mildew, grease, oil, chalk, rust, and any other surface contaminants. Repair all moisture problems. Blistering and peeling issues are commonly caused by moisture behind the paint film. Putty all nail holes and caulk all cracks and open seams. Sand all glossy, rough and patched surfaces. Stucco, concrete and masonry surfaces must be completely dry, free of efflorescence and allowed to cure for 30 days prior to painting. The appropriate primer is recommended for all uncoated surfaces and special substrates such as tannin staining wood, preprimed and unprimed hardboard, new or chalky masonry, and bare metal. WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted NOISH-approved respirator and prevent skin contact to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the USEPA National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. Follow these instructions to control exposure to other hazardous substances that may be released during surface preparation.
Application:
Stir thoroughly. Apply with a high quality brush, roller, paint pad, or by spray equipment. When using more than one container of the same color, intermix to ensure color uniformity. Do not thin.
Application Temperature:
Apply only when air, product, and surface temperatures are between 35°F (2°C) and 90°F (32°C) and at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. Air and surface temperatures must remain between 35°F (2°C) and 90°F (32°C) for the next 48 hours. Avoid painting in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces. Do not apply late in the day when dew and condensation are likely to form or if rain or snow is expected. On large expanses of metal, temperatures must be 50°F (10°C) or higher.
Drying Time:
Dry time at 77°F and 50% relative humidity. To Touch: 30 minutes To Recoat: 4 hours To Full Cure: 30 days. At 35°F, To touch: 3-6 hours. To recoat: 24 hours. Drying times listed may vary depending on temperature, humidity, color, film build, and air movement.
Coverage:
Approximately 300 - 400 sq. ft. (27.9 - 37.2 sq. meters) per U.S. gallon (3.78 Liters) on primed, smooth, nonporous surfaces. Coverage figure do not include loss due to surface irregularities and porosity, or material loss due to application method or mixing. Some colors, drastic color changes, or porous surfaces may require more than one coat to achieve a uniform finish.
Cleanup:
Cleanup tools with warm, soapy water.
Recommended Substrates:
Exterior wood, brick, masonry, concrete, weathered aluminum, weathered vinyl siding, and primed metal surfaces.
Warning:
Please refer to the Product Label, Technical Data Sheet (TDS) or Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for safety and detailed application instructions.
